Driven by a deep passion to empower the next generation of young, focused, and talented filmmakers, Chris Odeh founded the Masterclass with Chris Odeh (MCWCO), a transformative, two-phase training initiative designed specifically for emerging African film producers.
The program begins with a virtual training for 100 carefully selected participants, equipping them with foundational and advanced insights into film production. The top-performing finalists then advance to a 7-day, all-expense-paid creative residency, where they engage in immersive, hands-on learning with industry experts.

Launched on Chris Odeh’s birthday in 2020, MCWCO has become an annual tradition. To date, it has trained and mentored over 110 young producers and creatives, many of whom are now active contributors to the African film industry, playing key roles in acclaimed film projects and production teams.
At its core, MCWCO is more than a training, it’s a launchpad for the next wave of African cinema.
